August Product of the Month: Honeywell LU4716BHONA Access Control Reader

Our Product of the Month for August is the LU4716BHONA Access Control Reader from Honeywell. This reader is suitable for both access control systems and for arming and disarming Galaxy intruder systems.

 

Optimum Security with the LU4716BHONA Reader

 

The LU4716BHONA Access Control Reader boasts a 16-button backlit keypad, and its integrated buzzer and tamper detection provides users with clear feedback during operation.

Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) is an access control communications standard, with a highly secure, 128-bit encryption format. The LU4716BHONA Access Control Reader supports MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2, offering extreme safety in transmission. You can choose between Honeywell cards (ODPEV28N38) and fobs (ODKEV28N38) or use 3^rd party cards, or your own existing card.

 

Illuminated Ring for Customisable Function

 

The illuminated ring can be programmed according to the customer’s specific needs. Its features include colour adjustment, brightness, and function – all programmable with the addition of the LU45USBCONF.

The three different ring light colours are controlled by the panel during normal operation. However, these can be customised according to end user preference using the optional Configuration Tool. For example, you could easily turn off the LED ring overnight if you do not wish to draw attention to your reader.

 

Easy Installation for Indoor and Outdoor Use

 

With its compact design, this device allows for easy installation, and is suitable both for indoor and outdoor use. Its small, flat, robust housing – protruding just 14mm from the wall – allows the reader to meet modern architectural design requirements. This also makes it a versatile fit for wall or surface mounting. 

Wall mount housing and surface mount plates are also available to provide additional mounting options where required.
